From Arnprior to Laurentian Hills, there's a good chance you will see construction crews working on County-maintained roads this summer.

The County of Renfrew is putting $31 million into rehabilitation and reconstruction on 17 different roads throughout the region, as well as 10 bridges and culverts.

The end result will fix up around 49 kilometres of roads before the construction season wraps up in October, with new hardened shoulders for 30 kilometres of that stretch which will help keep cyclists safe among other benefits.

On top of all that, regular maintenance like shouldering, mowing, paver and pothole patching, brushing, ditching, and crack sealing will be also done over the next few months.

In a statement, the county says rising construction costs continue to receive careful consideration as maintain their roads and facilities as part of a 10 year asset management plan. Staff are making continued efforts to keep those costs down without affecting the quality of service that residents should expect.

Helping to ease the cost of this year's construction schedule is a $2.6 million dollar contribution from the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund and another $2.9 million dollars from the Canadian Community Building Fund, which you may remember as the Gas Tax Fund.

They’re asking motorists to obey all signs and traffic controllers while construction is underway from early June to October, as lane reductions and alternating traffic will be required for many of the projects to be completed safely.

Here's a look at all the construction the County of Renfrew has planned for this summer:
